C&M Amusement Co., a S.C. Midlands Company that has been in the Amusement Business for almost 5 decades. You can learn all about C&M by going to their website, www.classiccompanypicnics.com

There are 2 primary responsibilities for participating Band Booster Clubs. First, each Band Booster Club will be assigned a campsite in Camp Horroween. It will be the responsibility of the Band Booster Club to design and decorate the campsite. This will include a camper, tent, travel trailer, etc. that contains the mass murder scene of the family that owned it. 2Nd, each Booster Club will be responsible for providing about 20 people to work at Camp Horroween for one night.

The plan is to open Thursday-Sunday nights for the entire month of October; this will give us about 20 nights operation. Our goal is to have 20 booster clubs to participate in Camp Horroween with each booster club being responsible for creating one camp site and staffing Camp Horroween for one of the 20 nights that it is open.

The haunted house industry is very large and areas the size of the S.C. Midlands (about 1 million people) and the S.C. Upstate (about 1.5 million people) can expect to average at least 2,000 guests per night for a top quality, well advertised haunted attraction. Our goal is to have a minimum of 1,500 guests per night and with the monies from tickets, concessions and tee shirt sales to profit all participating booster clubs a minimum of $15,000 each for their providing one camp site and staffing Camp Horroween for one night. This $15,000 number could also go much higher with us reaching 2,000 guests or more per night. The bottom line is the better job we do with creating and advertising Camp Horroween the more profits we will make.

There will also be bonus money awarded to Booster Clubs who provide the highest quality campsites. The amounts of this bonus money and how it will be distributed will be decided in our forum.

The RV’s, campers, golf carts, boats, etc. that are used as props should be old and in very poor condition. There are families all over who have these junks sitting around who will gladly donate them to any High School Band for a fundraiser. Remember, according to the script, these camp sites have been sitting here for many years so they must look rough……...nothing nice will work.

Your members do. People who build props for high school bands are very creative, this should be very fun and easy for them.

No, a large viewing window will be cut in the front of the campers where people look inside as they walk by.

The sky is literally the limit! For a haunted attraction Camp Horroween is an absolute gold mine; the complete arsenal is available to everyone who designs these campsites. First, this is an abandoned campground deep in the REAL woods. There will be a video warning guests to watch out for all types of animals that live in these woods. This, alone, opens the door to all kinds of real frights, both visual and audio that you just don’t have indoors. When guests encounter these special effects/animals it will certainly frighten them because they know that it may not be a prop, these animals may be real. Nothing is a more powerful weapon to designers of haunted attractions than real threats to the guests and deep the woods in the black darkness of night is packed full of real threats.

2Nd, this is a scene of a very large, brutal mass murder where nobody survived. The victims range from infant babies to 100 year old grandmothers; imaginations can literally run wild when these scenes are created.

3Rd, these murders were carried out by a vicious satanic cult. The appearance/costume of these cult members can be whatever the designer chooses opening an unlimited door of opportunities.

4th, there can be all kinds of props used for indoor and outdoor scenes including the campers, boats, old vehicles, old golf carts, old B-B-Q grills and any other items that would be found in a campground many decades ago.

5th,the people who design these campsites actually have a blank slate with no limitations, they can use about any fright that is out there. We encourage the designers of these campsites to play to all senses, hearing, smelling, touching, seeing, etc.

ABSOLUTELY, in fact we encourage every site to include some type of special effects. We have a ton of information on special effects involving spiders, scorpions, rats, bats, snakes and other creatures that can be created almost cost free. We will share this with all Band Booster Clubs that are participating.

Yes, but we don’t recommend motor homes.

There are so many advantages to doing a haunted campground instead of a typical haunted house:

1- It eliminates all of the staggering costs of fire sprinklers and very expensive electrical systems that indoor haunted attractions require.

2- It provides a treasure trove of free resources to use when designing and creating frights that are not available with an inside haunt.

3-The capacity per hour of guests going through the attraction in much higher with an outdoor attraction.

4- There are virtually unlimited possible locations for a haunted campground. All you need is a large field (parking) with scary woods surrounding it.

5- When the season ends campers (props) can be sealed up and stored cost free until they are used at Camp Horroween next year. With a haunted house the property must be either bought or leased for the entire year and maintained in order to preserve the haunts inside of it for next years.

6- Parking is usually abundant when outside areas are used; not so around old homes.

Band Booster Clubs who partner in this will profit in multiple ways. Here is how:

1- Most haunted houses charge $30 per person for admission. Being that we are a group of local band booster clubs I think we should only charge $20 for admission and we should provide our guests with a $40 event (this will be discussed in our forum and a final decision made by participating booster clubs). Here is why I believe that. First, I believe that we can sell many, many more $20 tickets than we can $30 tickets, maybe 3 or 4 times more. Once we get everything in place, the cost of serving 2,000 guests a night will be about the same as the cost for 1,000 guests a night, so, I would rather have 2,000 people paying $20 per night than 1,000 people paying $30 per night.

The gross ticket sales for the entire one month season will be split in the following manner: The Band Booster Clubs receive 75% and C&M Amusement receives 25%. Band Booster Clubs also receive 25% of all concessions sales and $2.50 for every tee shirt that is sold on the nights that their group staffs Camp Horroween.

C&M will provide the following and pay for these items:

- All website admin and needs

- Instructional videos for each Band Booster Club showing them how to carry out all responsibilities involved in staffing the event for the 1 night that each Band Booster Club will be responsible for.

- Managing and overseeing all operations involved in Camp Horroween, however, there will be a Camp Ranger that is the “boots on the ground” for Camp Horroween. This Ranger will be chosen from one of the participating booster clubs.

- Managing and maintaining a private online forum where all people involved with Camp Horroween can openly communicate and share ideas.

- C&M will provide a very large, 40 x 80 tent with sides for the entire duration of October. This tent will house all ticket, concessions and tee shirt sales for Camp Horroween and will serve as the center of operations for all of Camp Horroween. Tents this size rent for app. $3,500 per day.

- All power generators necessary to run Camp Horroween.

- All concessions equipment necessary to serve the guests of Camp Horroween.

- All design and lay out of Camp Horroween once a final location is chosen.

- Management of all mulching/land clearing that may be needed at Camp Horroween.

- Overseeing and leading in the creation of an auditing/accounting board from the participating booster clubs that handles, documents and controls all revenues from the ticket and concessions sales at Camp Horroween.

- Managing and controlling all aspects of tee shirt sales at Camp Horroween.

- Establishing all parking areas at Camp Horroween.

Out of the 75% that the Band Booster Clubs collectively receive the costs of the following will be deducted and the remainder will be divided among the Booster Clubs:

- Insurance
- Property lease
- Fuel for power generators
- Security
- Camp Horroween Ranger’s salary
- Porta Jons for guests
- Cost of mulching and land clearing

All RV’s and other campers must be in place by Sept. 15. The outside portion of the campsite will only be required to be “roughed in” with big items in place on Sept.15.

There will be a ‘dress rehearsal” on Sunday afternoon Sept. 20th. And a second one on Sept. 27 if needed. Everything, inside and outside must be in place and operational by Sept. 20th. We are representing band booster clubs here and we will have our plan down perfect before the doors open. Camp Horroween will open on Thursday October 2, 2025.

No, this is a 3 year agreement so all participating band booster clubs are guaranteed a camp site for 3 years once they create it.

Just submit the form at the bottom of your Band Booster Club page and a staff member of Camp Horroween will quickly reply.

To be a participating art class in a Camp Horroween and a financial partner in the sharing of the monies that Camp Horroween generates there is only 1 requirement: each participating art class will be assigned a campsite in Camp Horroween. It will be the responsibility of the art class to design and transform their campsite into a scene where one of the families was massacred. Art classes are allowed to have more than 1 campsite if they desire to increase their profits..

Art classes can profit from Camp Horroween in multiple ways:

1-      The haunted house industry is very large and extremely profitable. Camp Horroween will open Thursday – Sunday nights during Halloween Season ( 20 nights total ). According to industry guidelines, metro areas of 1 million to 1.5 million residents can expect somewhere between 1,000 and 1,500 people attending a quality haunted attraction per night (Camp Horroween will be a top quality attraction). The plan is to have 20 campsites in Camp Horroween. The profits from Camp Horroween will be divided equally among the participating art classes on a per campsite basis. An art class with 2 campsites will receive the profit share for both campsites; twice the amount they would have received from just 1 campsite.

2-      This is an art contest and cash will be awarded to the classes that win.

3-      On each of the 20 nights that Camp Horroween operates we will utilize bands and their booster clubs to staff Camp Horroween and they will receive an attractive percentage of their night’s revenues. Participating art classes will also be allowed to work these nights and receive donations for this if they choose, but this is not required.

Our goal is to fundraise a minimum of $12,000 - $15,000 per campsite for each participating art class and to provide a minimum of $2,500 to bands and their booster clubs for each night that they work staffing Camp Horroween.

The art classes and their teachers do; this should be very fun and easy for them. The RV's, travel trailers, golf carts, boats, camping equipment, etc. that are used as props for these scenes should be in very poor condition or made to look that way. There are families all over who have these “junks” items sitting around who will gladly donate them to any High School art class for a fundraiser. One request for these items on social media will deliver more than you can use. Remember, according to the script, these camp sites have been sitting here for many years so they must look rough.........nothing that looks nice will work. There is little to no costs involved for the art classes to create these scenes. Garages and back yards everywhere are full of everything that is needed. The lighting at Camp Horroween is very dim so details will not be easily seen, making these scenes much easier to create in every way. All art students and teachers will love being a part of this. Any other kids in the school who have “useful” talents of any kind can also volunteer and be a part of creating this “camp site of horror”. Show this information on Camp Horroween to your art students and watch them “light up” with excitement. Come join us.

No, a large viewing window will be cut out in the front of the campers where people look inside as they walk by. Any Building Construction class will gladly make this opening for their art class.

The sky is literally the limit! For a haunted attraction Camp Horroween has the mother lode of frights; the complete arsenal is available to everyone who designs these campsites. First, this is an abandoned campground down deep in REAL woods. Designers have always had a field day terrorizing patrons way down in the deep, dark woods. EVERYBODY is scared of what MIGHT BE in those dark woods with its creepy sounds.

2Nd, this is a scene of a very large, multiple crime scene, brutal mass murder where nobody survived. The victims range from infant babies to 100 year old grandmothers; imaginations can literally run wild when these camp site scenes are created.

3Rd, these murders were carried out by members of a vicious satanic cult who make human sacrifices while disguised as demons, each with their own terrifying look. With this, demons of any kind or look are in play and can be used without limitations by designers.

4th, there can be all kinds of props used for indoor and outdoor scenes including campers, boats, old vehicles, old golf carts, old B-B-Q grills, clothes lines and any other items that would be found in a campground many years ago. The RV’s, campers, golf carts, boats, etc. that are used as props should be in very poor condition. There are families all over who have these sitting around who will gladly donate them to any High School Band for a fundraiser. Remember, according to the script, these camp sites have been sitting here for many years so they must look rough……...nothing that looks nice will work.

5th, we encourage the designers of these campsites to play to all senses, hearing, smelling, touching, seeing, etc….it is impossible to make it too scary.

First, we define “terrifiers” as elite, very effective scare tactics that literally “TERRIFY” EVERYONE. Terrifiers make the people targeted feel “real fear…..breath-taking fear”, for at least a few moments. We encourage all of the designers to include some type of “terrifier” in their site, in fact, we recommend bonus money for art classes that use them. We have information on “terrifiers” involving spiders, scorpions, rats, bats, snakes and other creatures/things that can be created virtually cost free.

Yes, but travel trailers are much better and easier. Some designers may want to put up a small "pup" tent outside and make a scene or direct traffic with it. We don't recommend motor homes; it is too difficult to see in them from ground level and they are very hard to move if they don't run.

There are too many advantages to list. Here are a few:

1- The outside campground will make much higher profits than the indoor haunted house because it eliminates all of the staggering costs of fire sprinklers, very expensive electrical systems, escape doors and many other items that indoor haunted attractions require.

2 - It provides a treasure trove of free, terrifying “scare tactics” to use that are not available with an inside haunt. The experience at Camp Horroween starts with the trolley ride down to the campsites. The trolley is a large, old rusty and beat up livestock trailer that shakes and rattles loudly. It is pulled by an old, dirty and noisy tractor driven by a very unsavory looking man. The ride on this un-nerving trolley carries visitors deep down in pitch black dark woods where Camp Horroween is located; and then the real fear begins. The top 10 of animal phobias include spiders, snakes, bats, rats, coyotes, bob cats, wild boars, insects, and bees; and all live in and around Camp Horroween. Camp Horroween provides terror for everyone, in one or more ways. The terror that can be created using these animals/creatures is only limited by your art class’s imagination.

3- The capacity per hour of guests going through the attraction in much higher outdoors. You can serve many more people with an outside campground than with a indoor attraction; this means far more profits.

4- There are virtually unlimited possible locations for a haunted campground. All you need is a large field (parking) with scary woods surrounding it.

5- When the season ends campers (props) can be sealed up and stored cost free until they are used at Camp Horroween next year. With a haunted house the property must be either bought or leased for the entire year and maintained in order to preserve the haunts inside of it for next year.

6- Parking is usually abundant when outside areas are used; not so around old homes.

7- There is very little costs involved when art classes open a Camp Horroween and what little costs that are  incurred can be paid in November once the season ends. Businesses are glad to help.

8- It is much, much easier and very simple to open a haunted campground outside. Haunted houses are much harder and more complicated to do. Haunted campgrounds are simple to set up, easy to operate and extremely profitable.

Every Camp Horroween will have a Campground Manager that is hired and paid to oversee all details involving creating and operating their Camp Horroween location. This position is not complicated at all and is a perfect job (paid ) for a parent/couple or grand parent/couple of one of the art/band students involved. Camp Horroween has created an excellent training program for these Campground Managers that provides them with a step by step check sheet that shows them exactly what to do from A to Z and also provides them with a help line where they can call and get expert answers to any situation that they may have. Keep in mind, patrons walk through Camp Horroween and get the breath scared out of them…...and that is it. With the right blueprint, and Camp Harroween has that, it is quite simple to do.
Camp Horroween staff also provides all tickets for admission, concessions, etc. and an online spreadsheet system that keeps up with all revenues as they come in. It is a great system that is very thorough and easy to follow.
Of course, all locations use the www.camphorroween.com website.

No! The Art Classes get 80% and Camp Horroween gets 20%.

This is designed to be a permanent agreement that funds art classes year after year. Once an art class is rewarded with a camp site, it is theirs permanently. The popularity of haunted attractions never goes away.

Do art classes have to build new campsites every year to keep the attraction new and modern?

It is very important to change out campsites often so return customers will come back in large numbers year after year. Camp Horroween has several plans in place to address and accommodate this. First, Once Nov. 1 comes, Camp Horroween will add a new tab to its website: BUY, SELL, SWAP OR TRADE PROPS/CAMPSITE. Art classes can swap props with art classes from other Camp Horroween locations and not have to build anything to have their Camp Horroween site new for next season. Art classes can also modify what they have and create a different look and haunt experience in their campsites for next season.

2nd, art classes that enjoy building these campsites can build them and sell them for high profits to new art classes starting in other areas. After this first season there will be a large number of new Camp Horroween locations opened up. Once an art class gets a campsite they will never need to buy or create another one unless they want to; they can simply trade for other campsites, change them up a little if you like, and year after year make great profits…. indefinitely. The haunted house business will never die.

Art classes should never have to build but one campsite, but they can build as many as they like.
